Instructions
- Divide the ground beef into six equal portions so every taco gets a good amount.
- Press one portion of beef into a thin layer across one side of each tortilla. Take it close to the edges because the beef will shrink a little as it cooks. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add just enough oil to lightly coat the surface.
- Place one tortilla beef-side down in the hot skillet. Press it gently with a spatula and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
- Flip the tortilla, add a slice of American cheese, and cook for about 1 more minute. The tortilla should be crisp underneath and the cheese should be soft and melted.
- Repeat with the remaining tacos, adding another small splash of oil only if the skillet starts looking dry.
- Fold the tacos while they are still warm, then add pickles and burger sauce if using. Eat them right away while the edges are still crisp.
