Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or simple syrup
- 3/4 cup cold milk or oat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Ingredients
- 1/4 cup heavy cream or barista oat creamer
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon sugar or vanilla syrup
Instructions
- Add matcha powder to a small bowl or cup. Pour in the hot water.
- Whisk the matcha until it looks smooth and slightly frothy, then sweeten with sugar or simple syrup.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour in the cold milk and vanilla extract.
- Slowly pour the sweetened matcha over the milk so you get a layered look.
- In a separate cup, whisk the cream, milk, and sugar together until it thickens slightly and turns into a loose foam.
- Spoon the sweet foam over the top of the drink.
- Serve right away and stir before drinking if you want the flavors mixed.
